Common Questions
It is normal to feel a bit anxious when thinking on starting therapy, for that reason, I thought it would be good to answer some questions here. Please make sure to email me or call me if some of your questions are not answered here.
Will my insurance cover therapy?
I don't accept insurance directly, but I'm happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. The superbill includes all the necessary details, such as session dates and treatment codes, so you can check with your insurer about out-of-network benefits.
What will my first visit look like?
In our first session, we’ll keep things relaxed and conversational. My goal is simply to get to know you; what brings you in, what’s been going on in your life, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy.
We’ll talk about your goals, what you’d like to work on, and what support looks like for you. I’ll be gathering information throughout our conversation to help me create a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs, your pace, and your priorities.
You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with; there’s no pressure, no expectations. This time is yours, and I’m here to listen, support, and help you start moving toward the life you want to live.
How can I make the most of my experience in therapy?
While I'm trained to help you make insights into your life experiences, explore your feelings, and encourage you to work towards your goals, something to remember and keep in mind as we walk this path together is that YOU hold the power to change your life!
We will work together to find your individual tools that will help you reach your goals.
Being committed to this process will ensure that you get the most out of therapy.
